But how should filmmakers determine which platform is best? Like many things in life, the devil is in the details. Platforms may appear similar at first glance – using sleek graphic design, up-to-date UX and an inviting user-friendly interface. Yet, true differentiation must be considered. To assist you in selecting the optimal platform, I invited produce / director Hilla Medlia, to share her excellent presentation “Crowdfunding – The Business Of Independent Filmmaking”.
Hilla is a Peabody Award-winning filmmaker who received three Emmy nominations. Her projects have garnered critical acclaim and screened internationally in theatres and on television including HBO, MTV, BBC and ARTE. Her latest film, ‘Censored Voices’ 2015, has premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and Berlinale and was released theatrically in the US,France, UK and Germany.
